DIY Hair Removal Masks

DIY Hair Removal Masks

Body hair removal is a time-consuming, painful task that can at times leave you with red rashes, bumps, and a hefty bill. From shaving to waxing to laser treatments, we go through a lot to get smooth skin, but if you want to take a break from these methods and try more natural, skin-friendly, and budget-friendly options, we’re here for you. Here are some easy DIY hair removal masks that will not harm your skin but gradually reduce the growth of body hair:

  • Raw papaya mask with turmeric: Mash a small amount of raw papaya into a juicy pulp and add two tablespoons of powdered turmeric to it. Mix this into a paste and apply it all over your body and face. Let it rest for about 15-20 minutes and then wash it off. Papaya contains the enzyme papain, which helps reduce hair growth, and turmeric has antioxidants that fight bacteria. This is one of the most amazing DIY hair removal masks that is ideal for people with sensitive skin.
  • Mask of potato with lentils: Soak some lentils in water overnight and grind them into a smooth paste the next morning. Grate a medium-sized potato and extract the juice from it by squeezing it in a clean cloth. Add this juice to the lentil paste, and stir in some lemon juice and a tablespoon of honey. Apply this mask on your body and face and leave it on for 20 mins. Once it’s dry, rinse it off. Potato acts as a bleaching agent with its acidic properties and helps in lightening and reducing hair growth.
  • Lemon, honey, and sugar mask: Mix a tablespoon of lemon, sugar, and honey and mildly heat the mixture until it has a wax-like consistency. Add some water if it’s too thick. Cool it, and then apply small amounts on your body. Cover the area where you have applied the paste with a waxing strip firmly and rip it off in the direction opposite to that of the hair growth. Wash the area with cool water and then apply some moisturizer to soothe it and prevent dry skin. Honey is a great natural moisturizer, sugar aids in exfoliation, and lemon has effective bleaching properties. Together, they work magically as an effective hair removal mask.
  • Banana with oatmeal: Mash a banana into a paste and add two tablespoons of oatmeal to it. Then, apply this mixture all over your body in the direction opposite to that of the hair growth. Leave on for 20 minutes and wash it off after that. Oatmeal acts as a natural scrubber, and banana helps soften the skin, making for an easy yet effective DIY hair removal mask for people with dry skin.

Before using DIY hair removal masks, ensure that you do a patch test on a small part of your body to check for any rashes or skin irritation.
